Traffic-rule compliance is crucial for autonomous trucks to ensure safety for all traffic participants. As part of this thesis, we want to integrate traffic rule monitoring in our autonomous driving framework and assess its usefulness.

 

You can look forward to these tasks

  • Integrate an existing monitoring framework into our autonomous driving stack
  • Apply monitoring during motion planning
  • Review the temporal logic specifications of the highway traffic rules and possibly adapt them
  • Ensure real-time capability of the monitoring: Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize the implementation as well as the underlying concepts
  • Extend the monitoring to robustness evaluations to increase the usefulness of the monitoring result
  • Test the monitoring approach both in simulation and reality

 

We are looking forward to

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a comparable field
  • Experience with C++, CMake and git
  • Independent and structured working style
  • Proficient in English, written and spoken
